Elan joined JFNA’s Community & Jewish Life team as the Senior Director of Community Engagement last year. Previously, Elan worked as Associate Program Officer at Maimonides Fund supporting the organization’s grantmaking in Jewish Life & Learning and Israel Engagement. A meaningful student experience with Hillel at UCLA inspired his journey to work on campus for 5 years at Columbia/Barnard Hillel, and Elan currently serves in a mentorship capacity for early career Hillel professionals during their initial years on campus.
Elan originally hails from Laguna Beach, California and has a bachelors from UCLA and masters from George Washington University’s School of Education & Human Development. He recently served as a delegate to the World Zionist Congress for Arzenu, representing the Reform Movement and the World Union for Progressive Judaism. Elan is an alum of The iCenter’s graduate program in Israel Education and The Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies.
